The Plan The Natural Park of the Volcanic zone of La Garrotxa is a unique region in Spain for being the best example of volcanic landscape of the Peninsula. Located in the eastern Pyrenees this park is famous for its 40 volcanic cones, 10 craters and 20 basaltic lava flows.
We’ll go for a beautiful hike through the beech forest of Fageda d'en Jorda where we’ll enjoy the fantastic seasonal colours of the trees and will try to immortalize them with our camera. We’ll discover the ancient volcano of Santa Margarita (with its hermitage built in the center of the crater), and the Volcano del Croscat with its horseshoe-shaped crater which is about 160 m high. Then we’ll drive to the medieval town of Santa Pau and its typical urban landscape full…
